Doug Dittrick opening remarks at the 178th Ekklesia

Brother dittrick honored at 178th Ekklesia in Phoenix!

We are thrilled to announce that Doug Dittrick (Ohio Wesleyan '55) was recognized at the most recent Ekklesia for his service and upcoming Diamond Owl Award signifying his 75th anniversary of initiation into Phi Gamma Delta!  We are fortunate to have Doug as a local member of the SWFL Graduate Chapter where we, too, plan  celebrate this milestone event during our upcoming season.  Doug was also recognized at the Phoenix Ekklesia for a new and very generous commitment to fund the Build to Lead development program.  Well done, Doug!

pig dinner news

This year's SWFL Graduate Chapter Norris Pig Dinner was held on February 27, 2026 at the Olde Hickory Golf and Country Club in Ft. Myers, Florida.

We were thrilled to have Tyler Davis (Oklahoma State '11),  Executive Director of the Phi Gamma Delta Educational Foundation, as our 2026 Norris Pig Dinner Keynote Speaker!  His inspirational words reminded us that Phi Gamma Delta "was not preparing us for college, but rather it was preparing us for everything that came afterward".

In addition Tyler assisted in awarding 2 Owls to:  Randy Rowe--Silver (BGSU '85); and Tony Fackelmann--Gold (Cincinnati '76), honoring their 25 and 50 year initiation anniversaries respectively.  Congratulations!

We anticipate that the next SWFL Graduate Chapter Pig Dinner will be held in February, 2027 (site and location TBD)  This event will be open to ALL initiated Fijis and spouses/guests.  Please pass along an invitation to any brothers you may know who would be interested in attending.

Community involvement and outreach

We, once again, partnered with the Naples area Toys For Tots gift drive in conjunction this year's Holiday Party.   Last year we contributed 25 toys for distribution by the Naples Salvation Army as part of their efforts to provide holiday presents to underprivileged children region-wide.

As part of our continuing efforts to interface with community outreach organizations, we were thrilled to offer a "Lunch 'N Learn" with the Harry Chapin Food Bank, the largest organization of its kind in the region.  Attendees also had the opportunity to tour their Naples warehouse and distribution facility.

Welcome New Members--Thanks for your support!

Scott Mikulecky (Colorado State '82),  Steven Powell (Indiana '68)
